I'll be the 1st to admit that RSS isn't technically perfect. Sure it could be richer. So what? Windows wins over OS X, DOS over CPM, etc. History is full of technologies that aren't technically perfect but still win. We see it all the time (heck its basically a truism).

The question isn't whether or not RSS is perfect or "rich" but whether or not it can do the job. And clearly it is doing the job.
